A bus overturned near Kidwelly in Carmarthenshire, Wales, on Tuesday afternoon, resulting in injuries to more than two dozen passengers. The incident occurred around 12:20 p.m. close to a busy roundabout near the coastal town.

Emergency services responded promptly, safely evacuating all passengers from the vehicle. Police reported that 13 individuals received medical assessment and were discharged at the scene, while six others were transported to nearby hospitals for further treatment. A rest center was established at the John Burns Centre to assist those affected by the crash.

The bus involved was operating on the X11 route, managed by First Bus Franchising, which runs between Carmarthen and Swansea. Zoe Hand, the company’s managing director, said the firm is collaborating closely with police and ambulance authorities to support those impacted and to investigate the cause of the accident.

The crash also prompted warnings from local health officials about increased pressure on emergency services. The Hywel Dda Health Board indicated that accident and emergency departments could experience longer waiting times as they prioritize treatment for patients with the most urgent needs.

Authorities continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the crash, while recovery efforts remain ongoing.
