A new group of Palestinian children from Gaza arrived in Jordan on Tuesday to receive medical treatment, the Jordanian military announced. This marks the 26th group of children to be transferred to Jordan since the outbreak of conflict in Gaza in October 2023.
The latest group consists of 81 children, accompanied by 108 family members, who crossed into Jordan via the King Hussein (Allenby) border crossing between the occupied West Bank and Jordan, according to a military statement.
These transfers are part of the “Jordanian medical corridor” initiative, launched after King Abdullah II’s meeting with then-U.S. President Donald Trump in February 2025. The initiative aims to bring approximately 2,000 children from Gaza into Jordan for specialized medical care. Since March 2025, more than 716 children have been admitted under this program in cooperation with the World Health Organization. Most of these children have suffered from serious injuries such as fractures, major wounds, or severe illnesses including cancer.
The Jordanian military emphasized that the children will be treated at various hospitals across the kingdom, underscoring Jordan’s ongoing humanitarian and medical support efforts for Palestinians in Gaza.
Although a ceasefire has largely held in the Gaza Strip since last October, sporadic violence continues to affect the region. The ongoing conflict and resultant humanitarian crisis have necessitated international medical interventions such as this initiative.
