Dr. Majed bin Mohammed Al Ansari, Adviser to the Prime Minister and Official Spokesperson for Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, highlighted the critical role of trust and mediation in advancing regional security during a discussion at the Global Security Forum (GSF 2026) held in Doha on Tuesday.

Addressing the session titled “Chokepoints, Supply Chains, and the Diplomacy of De-escalation,” Dr. Al Ansari underscored the need to shield diplomatic negotiations from media pressures that might derail efforts toward agreement. He cautioned against the repercussions of ongoing escalation in the region and called for enhanced dialogue among regional actors alongside broader international cooperation to address conflicts and promote stability.

Dr. Al Ansari reiterated Qatar’s firm support for the sovereignty of Saudi Arabia and the internationally recognized government in Yemen. On the situation in Gaza, he emphasized that enduring peace requires enabling the Palestinian population to fulfill their legitimate aspirations for an independent state, coupled with a political framework that secures both safety and stability.

In addition, Dr. Al Ansari advocated for the development of “global peace supply chains,” a concept aimed at combining countries’ capabilities to strengthen multilateral coordination in mediation, conflict prevention, and post-conflict reconstruction. He framed peacebuilding as a collective international duty, calling for a shift away from temporary crisis management toward sustained and systematic approaches.
