Malaysian singer Misha Omar has described the late Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali as an "angel," recalling her experience portraying the former prime minister’s wife in the 2011 production *Mahathir the Musical*. Misha, known for her hit song *Bunga-Bunga Cinta*, said the opportunity was one of the most meaningful in her career.
Misha recounted a private meeting with Dr Siti Hasmah at the Petronas Twin Towers, arranged by theatre producer Siti Rohaya Attan to help her prepare for the role. She described Dr Siti Hasmah as kind, humble, and approachable, noting that the former first lady showed no trace of social distance despite her prominent status.
“She treated me, someone who was still green and inexperienced at the time, with such kindness,” Misha said. She added that Dr Siti Hasmah was poised yet had a playful side, recalling how the late figure responded cheekily when asked for a photo, saying, “RM5.”
Misha expressed gratitude for the personal interaction and described the experience as a source of pride, highlighting the warmth and gentleness that marked Dr Siti Hasmah’s character.
In a separate matter, a homeowner in Cherating, Kuantan, is facing significant financial losses after discovering her property was allegedly misused for illegal bitcoin mining. Rabiatul Adawiyah Abdul Rahman, 35, reported that the tenant she rented the house to in April had tampered with the building’s wiring and ceiling, causing extensive damage.
Rabiatul said she initially trusted the tenant, who claimed to have a family and consistently paid rent on time. The damage was uncovered following visits by officials from Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) and the police, prompted by reports from neighbours.
She expressed concern that she might also face claims from TNB related to electricity theft at the property. “I handed over the house in new condition, with new wiring. But now my house has been ruined,” she said, emphasizing the severity of the financial losses caused by the tenant’s alleged actions.
