Authorities in Kuwait have arrested an individual alleged to be involved in drug trafficking and possession for personal use, officials confirmed on Sunday. The apprehension took place in the Ahmadi area during an operation conducted by the Drug Control General Department.

According to a Ministry of Interior statement, security forces seized a substantial cache of narcotics and psychotropic substances from the suspect. The confiscated items include 2.5 kilograms of hashish, 2 kilograms of marijuana, and 200 grams of crystal methamphetamine, locally known as “Shabu.” Additionally, authorities recovered 2,500 capsules of Lyrica, a medication sometimes abused for its psychoactive effects, along with 300 tablets of methadone.

The operation also uncovered several sheets of A4 paper infused with synthetic cannabis, referred to in the report as “Chemical,” as well as two precision weighing scales and empty packaging bags believed to be used for distributing the narcotics.

Following the arrest and seizure, the individual and the substances were handed over to the relevant legal authorities for further investigation and judicial action. The Ministry of Interior did not provide further information on the suspect’s identity or potential connections to drug networks.

This incident reflects ongoing efforts by Kuwaiti authorities to combat drug trafficking and control the spread of illegal substances within the country.
