Authorities at Kuwait Airport intercepted a drug smuggling attempt involving nearly 2,000 pills of a controlled psychotropic substance. Customs inspectors at Terminal 4 discovered 1,996 pills of “Rayol,” which contains tapentadol, a narcotic drug, in the possession of a traveler arriving from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

The General Administration of Customs (GAC) credited the seizure to the careful attention and thorough inspection protocols of its officers. Following the discovery, the officials documented the incident in a formal seizure report and proceeded with established customs and legal measures. The individual involved, along with the confiscated medication, was handed over to the Drug Control General Department for further investigation.

The GAC emphasized its ongoing dedication to enforcing stringent controls at all entry points into Kuwait to prevent the illegal importation of narcotics and psychotropic substances. This operation underscores Kuwait’s broader efforts to combat drug trafficking and maintain border security.
