The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) will remain open for trading and official activities on Saturday, October 17, despite Saturdays typically being a weekly holiday. This decision comes ahead of the Durga Puja festival, which has prompted a government-declared public holiday on Thursday, October 22.
Normally, both exchanges close on Saturdays, but the bourses have adjusted their schedules to accommodate the upcoming holiday period. Trading and administrative operations will be paused for three consecutive days, from Wednesday, October 20, through Friday, October 22, in observance of the Durga Puja public holiday.
To compensate, both the DSE and CSE will conduct normal trading sessions on Saturday, October 17. Following the holiday break, regular trading and office hours will resume on Sunday, October 25.
The exchanges’ schedule adjustments aim to align with the government’s holiday announcement while maintaining uninterrupted market operations.
