Dubai has enhanced its emergency medical readiness ahead of the 2026-27 academic year by activating 150 ambulance points across the emirate. This move aims to improve emergency response times and ensure safety around schools during peak traffic periods.

The Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services outlined a preparedness plan that focuses on protecting students, educators, and motorists as traffic congestion increases during school drop-off and pick-up times. The additional ambulance points will be staffed by specialist emergency medical personnel and equipped with vehicles carrying advanced medical technology capable of handling a variety of emergencies.

Key elements of the plan include rigorous checks on the readiness of field teams, strategic deployment of ambulance units, and increased coverage in areas surrounding schools. These measures are particularly focused on morning rush hours and dismissal periods when road traffic is at its highest.

Mishal Abdul Karim Julfar, Executive Director of the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services, emphasized the need for heightened coordination and preparedness at the start of the school year due to shifting traffic dynamics. The expanded ambulance network is part of a broader initiative to sustain rapid emergency access amid the daily movements of hundreds of thousands of students, parents, school buses, and staff throughout Dubai.

By augmenting ambulance presence during critical times, Dubai aims to mitigate risks and enhance the safety of all road users associated with school activities.
