Dubai Basketball preserved their unbeaten record in the 2026/27 ABA League with a 92–85 road victory over U-BT Cluj-Napoca at the BTarena in Romania on Tuesday. The result marked Dubai’s second consecutive win in Group B play, while Cluj-Napoca experienced their first loss of the season.

The hosts began the game strongly, keeping the opening quarter tightly contested before pulling away in the second period. Cluj-Napoca’s efficient offense allowed them to build a nine-point lead, entering halftime with a 45–36 advantage. However, Dubai responded with a commanding third quarter to overturn the deficit. The visitors scored 21 points in the first six minutes of the half while holding Cluj-Napoca to just six, seizing a 57–51 lead. Dubai extended their advantage to 68–59 by the end of the period, with their 32-point third quarter proving decisive.

Facing a determined home side, Dubai combined disciplined offense and cohesive team play, which enabled them to maintain control throughout the final quarter despite Cluj-Napoca’s efforts to close the gap. The visitors ultimately secured the win by seven points.

Following the game, Dubai’s head coach Xavi Pascual commended his team’s mental toughness and resilience. He noted that the first half featured several missed scoring opportunities, including open shots and close-range attempts. The team’s improved offensive execution after the break—when they tallied 56 points—was instrumental in their comeback. Pascual also pointed out Dubai’s ability to reach 92 points despite converting only five of 22 three-point attempts, highlighting the squad’s adaptability in finding alternative scoring avenues in a challenging away match.

Filip Petrušev led Dubai Basketball with seven points, six rebounds, and three assists, earning a performance index rating of 19. McKinley Wright IV contributed 14 points, while Élie Okobo added 12 points, five rebounds, and four assists. Dwayne Bacon also played a key role with 11 points and five assists.

For the hosts, Cristian Kulamae was the top scorer, posting 19 points, and Jordan Smart added 18 points alongside six assists.
