Dubai Chambers formalized two cooperation agreements with Chinese business organizations in Shenzhen as part of efforts to enhance trade and investment ties between Dubai and China. The memorandums of understanding (MoUs) were signed during the Dubai Business Forum – China, an event organized by Dubai Chambers, aimed at fostering closer economic collaboration.

The agreements were concluded with the Greater Bay Area Importers and Exporters Association (GBAIEA) and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Entrepreneurs Alliance. They seek to boost trade and investment flows while strengthening the connections between businesses in Dubai and counterparts within China’s Greater Bay Area.

China currently stands as Dubai’s largest trading partner, with non-oil trade between the two regions reaching 363.5 billion Emirati dirhams ($98.9 billion) in 2025. This figure was highlighted by Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed ahead of the forum, underscoring the significance of the relationship.

Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, president and CEO of Dubai Chambers, emphasized the organization’s commitment to expanding its global partnerships and facilitating new business opportunities for Dubai-based companies. Lootah signed the MoU with the GBAIEA alongside Zhao Huazhong, the association’s executive chairman.

The second agreement was signed by Salem Al-Shamsi, executive vice president of international relations at Dubai Chambers, and Diana Dai, executive president of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Entrepreneurs Alliance’s UAE chapter.

The Dubai Business Forum – China brought together 854 Chinese investors and business leaders along with a 112-member delegation from Dubai, highlighting the high level of engagement and interest on both sides. The event represents a key platform for deepening bilateral economic cooperation and exploring potential avenues for joint ventures and investment.
