Dubai has unveiled plans for the Dubai Future Research Hub, named Nad Zabeel, aiming to attract 30,000 researchers and specialists to advance key sectors that will shape the future of human life. The announcement was made by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, during a recent statement shared on his X account.
Sheikh Mohammed highlighted the importance of proactive engagement with future challenges, noting that difficulties faced by nations are less about the speed of change and more about the lag in preparation and strategic thinking. He described the new hub as a complement to Dubai’s existing infrastructure for innovation and forward planning, which includes the Dubai Future Foundation, the Museum of the Future, and the Dubai Future Academy.
Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Dubai Future Foundation, underscored that shaping the future is a sustained institutional effort rather than a transient campaign. He emphasized Dubai’s commitment to remaining at the forefront of global developments by attracting leading minds and nurturing solutions to emerging challenges.
Nad Zabeel will serve as a major centre for the design and development of advancements across multiple critical domains such as artificial intelligence, robotics, advanced technologies, urban innovation, health sciences, and environmental technologies. Situated within Zabeel Park, the hub will feature laboratories, research centres, and innovation incubators poised to foster collaboration among scientists, engineers, innovators, and experts from the UAE and international communities.
The Dubai Future Foundation will oversee the construction and operational phases, with the project slated for completion within five years. The initiative forms part of a broader strategy to institutionalize innovation and position Dubai as a global nexus for research, knowledge creation, and technological advancement.
