Dubai Municipality has inaugurated the Animal Welfare Shelter, a new integrated facility located at the Birds and Pets Market in the Warsan area, aimed at enhancing veterinary services and advancing animal welfare in the emirate. The shelter is designed to provide a secure and humane environment for stray and abandoned animals, promote responsible pet adoption, and reduce the population of animals living on the streets.

The shelter offers comprehensive care adhering to internationally recognized veterinary and animal welfare standards. Its programs include rehabilitation initiatives to prepare animals for adoption, ensuring they find suitable homes where they can live safely and in good health.

This project aligns with the objectives of Dubai’s Steering Committee for Preserving the Emirate’s Urban Appearance by fostering humane treatment of animals and encouraging responsible civic behavior. It also supports sustainable practices intended to improve the quality of life for both residents and visitors, while reinforcing Dubai’s global standing as a highly livable city.

To further enhance animal health and welfare services, Dubai Municipality has signed cooperation agreements with Vet for Pets Veterinary Clinic and Phoenix Veterinary Clinic. These partnerships seek to establish a model of animal care that integrates scientific best practices, digital innovation, and the principles of compassion rooted in Emirati heritage and Islamic teachings.
