Dubai will implement changes to speed limits on five major roads beginning November 1, announced the city’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). The adjustments involve raising speed limits on three streets while lowering them on two others as part of ongoing efforts to enhance road safety.

On Al Asayel Street, the speed limit will increase from 60 kilometers per hour (km/h) to 80 km/h on the section between Oud Metha Street and Al Meydan Street. Similarly, Al Mustaqbal Street will see its limit raised from 60 km/h to 70 km/h between Sheikh Rashid Street and Al Meydan Street. Latifa Bint Hamdan Street’s limit will also increase from 60 km/h to 70 km/h on the stretch between Sheikh Zayed Road and Al Khail Road.

Conversely, speed limits will be reduced on two roads in both directions. On Al Rebat Street, the limit will be lowered from 100 km/h to 90 km/h between Marackh Street and Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road. Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah Street will have its speed limit decreased from 80 km/h to 70 km/h between 2nd December Street and Khalid Bin Al Waleed Street.

The RTA will update speed limit signage along these routes in accordance with approved standards and will recalibrate speed cameras to enforce the new limits. These changes have been coordinated with Dubai Police and align with the directives of the Dubai Traffic Safety Strategy and the 2025 action plan, which aims to improve road safety metrics across the city.

The revisions are also informed by the 2026 update to the Dubai Speed Management Manual, which details technical specifications guiding speed regulation adjustments. The RTA emphasized that the measures are intended to balance traffic flow efficiency with heightened safety standards for all road users.
