Dubai is set to unveil what officials describe as the world’s first and longest 24-carat gold walkway before the end of 2026, positioning the city as a premier destination for gold and jewelry commerce. The Dubai Gold District, responsible for the project, anticipates opening the pathway within the next two months, offering both residents and tourists a unique experience of strolling along a route crafted entirely from pure gold.

Rashid Al Harmoodi, Senior Director of Commercial at Dubai Gold District, highlighted the walkway as a pioneering attraction that will enhance the district’s appeal. He noted that the initiative is designed to provide an immersive encounter with gold, further strengthening Dubai’s status as a global hub for gold and jewelry trading.

This development coincides with a broader expansion of the Dubai Gold District, which is also preparing to launch a new exhibition space. The facility aims to become the largest gold and jewelry trading exhibition in the Middle East, catering to growing local and international demand.

Since early 2026, the district has seen a 15 percent increase in the number of businesses specializing in gold, jewelry, precious stones, and luxury watches. Expansion efforts are ongoing to accommodate this surge, with plans to add new office and retail spaces. Al Harmoodi projects that the district will attract 10 to 20 percent more companies relocating there in the coming year.

These strategic moves are intended to reinforce Dubai’s dual role as both a tourism destination and a pivotal international center for the gold trade, supporting the city’s ambitions in the luxury and precious metals markets.
