Sheikh Mansoor Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of the UAE Olympic Committee and Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, has approved the emirate’s sports calendar for the 2026–27 season, alongside preparations for the upcoming World Sports Summit. The announcement was made following a recent meeting of the Dubai Sports Council.

The approved calendar features a broad range of sporting events and championships scheduled to take place throughout Dubai over the coming year, reflecting the city’s commitment to promoting diverse athletic activities. During the council meeting, officials also reviewed progress on initiatives outlined in the Dubai Sports Strategy 2033, a long-term plan aimed at positioning Dubai as a leading global sports hub.

Attention was drawn to the preparations for the second edition of the World Sports Summit, set for December 28 and 29. The summit is expected to bring together prominent athletes and sports figures from across the globe to engage in discussions on the future of sport. The event is viewed as a significant opportunity to highlight Dubai’s expanding influence within the international sports community.

Sheikh Mansoor acknowledged the role of local sports clubs and federations in supporting athlete development and enhancing competitive performance on local, regional, and continental levels. The emirate’s efforts include hosting major international championships alongside programs designed to increase grassroots participation and overall engagement in sports.
