The Duchess of Sussex has introduced a new £112 advent calendar inspired by her Montecito mansion, offering a California-themed take on the upcoming holiday season. The product launch comes just over a month after she and her family relocated to the United Kingdom, settling in the Cotswolds.
The advent calendar is the latest addition to the Duchess’s lifestyle brand, As Ever, and was created in collaboration with Los Angeles-based chocolatier Compartes. Available for pre-order through the As Ever website, the calendar features 24 handcrafted chocolates, each designed to reflect elements from the Montecito garden at the Sussex family home. The chocolates are individually numbered with what appears to be the Duchess's own handwriting.
The packaging further draws inspiration from the Montecito residence, with the cover illustration depicting the couple’s Californian estate where they lived for six years. Inside, the box is adorned with the phrase “A magical celebration of the season,” highlighting the calendar’s intent to “sweeten each day” throughout December.
Coinciding with the announcement, the Duchess shared video footage on social media capturing a lighthearted moment as she rode a golf buggy alongside Jonathan Grahm, the chief executive of Compartes. The video, captioned “Christmas planning in June,” features the Duchess smiling and saying “Hang on” while driving along a garden path. The audio track includes Michael Bublé’s holiday song “Baby Please Come Home.”
Additional glimpses in the clip show colour sketches of the Sussex family’s Montecito home and include a brief appearance by their Labrador, Pula, carrying a soft toy shaped like a pot of strawberry jam adorned with the As Ever logo. This launch adds to the family brand’s growing product line, maintaining a connection to their previous residence while marking their return to the UK.
