The Boston Bruins overcame an early two-goal deficit to secure a 4-2 victory over the Anaheim Ducks on Saturday at Honda Center, marking their fourth consecutive win and improving their record to 6-2-0. The Bruins rallied behind key contributions from Elias Lindholm, who assisted on the tying goal and netted the go-ahead score in the third period.
Anaheim took an early lead in the final minute of the first period with goals from Beckett Sennecke and Tim Washe, giving the Ducks a 2-0 advantage. Despite the slow start, Boston responded early in the second period as Frederic Brunet scored his first NHL goal—a power-play marker—helping to trim the deficit. Brunet, a 23-year-old defenseman, scored in just his sixth NHL game.
David Pastrnak also played a pivotal role, scoring a power-play goal to tie the game midway through the third period after executing a give-and-go with Lindholm. Shortly thereafter, Lindholm took advantage of a defensive lapse during a Bruins power play, converting a pass from Pavel Zacha with 11:39 remaining to put Boston ahead 3-2.
Matthew Poitras sealed the victory for the Bruins by adding an empty-net goal with 3:40 remaining, assisted by James Hagens, who recorded his second assist of the night. Goaltender Michael DiPietro made 25 saves in his second start of the season to help Boston maintain their lead in the Atlantic Division.
For the Ducks, goaltender Lukas Dostal stopped 18 shots in the loss, which marked their third consecutive defeat at home during a stretch where they conceded a total of 13 goals. Anaheim captain Mikael Granlund was sidelined with an upper-body injury. In his absence, winger Cutter Gauthier shifted to center for the first time in his NHL career.
The contest also highlighted strong fan support as the Ducks sold out Honda Center for the first four games of the season, a milestone not achieved since 2007, the year following their only Stanley Cup championship.
