Durham secured a remarkable three-wicket victory over Glamorgan at Gosforth on July 29, thanks to an unbeaten 148 from Will Rhodes that steered the home side from a precarious position to a memorable win.

Glamorgan, called to bat first, posted a total of 326 for six. Their innings was anchored by an opening partnership of 142 between Eddie Byrom and Zain-ul-Hassan. Byrom scored 76 while Zain-ul-Hassan contributed 65. Callum Nicholls provided valuable support with 45 runs. The innings accelerated late, with Dan Douthwaite hitting five sixes in an aggressive 18-ball 45 to push Glamorgan to a competitive score.

Durham’s chase began on a difficult note. After earlier relying on Ben Stokes to deliver strong performances, the team suffered a setback when Stokes was dismissed first ball by Douthwaite, who also claimed the wicket of Emilio Gay in his initial over. At 41 for three, Durham’s innings faltered further as Graham Clark, Colin Ackermann, and Ollie Robinson were dismissed quickly, leaving the hosts in trouble at 97 for six.

The match turned when Will Rhodes and captain Kasey Aldridge forged a crucial seventh-wicket partnership of 145 runs. Aldridge contributed 78 runs from 79 balls before being run out.
