A large wildfire that had been burning in a nature reserve in the eastern Netherlands was brought under control on Wednesday after more than two days, authorities reported. While the blaze is no longer spreading, isolated pockets of fire remain, and firefighters continue to monitor the area closely to prevent any flare-ups.

The North Limburg safety region confirmed that although the wildfire has not been fully extinguished, the situation was stable as of Wednesday morning. Earlier in the day, a spokesperson noted that the fire had stopped spreading overnight.

Separately, a new wildfire was reported on Wednesday afternoon along the coastal dunes near Wassenaar, an affluent residential area close to The Hague. Fire services responded quickly to the emerging fire, though details about the extent of this new blaze were not immediately available. Local authorities remain vigilant as efforts continue to manage both incidents.
