The Education Above All (EAA) Foundation, in partnership with the Qatar Foundation (QF) Alumni Office, has launched a new volunteer-driven program called “Skills 4 Good” aimed at expanding practical skill development among students at EAA’s Assalam Schools. The initiative, which began in October 2026, connects students with QF alumni and professionals who share career insights and hands-on skills during brief, interactive sessions.
Designed to enhance students’ preparedness for future education and employment opportunities, the program offers one-hour engagements that include Career Deep Dives, Skills Workshops, and Leadership talks. These sessions cover a range of subjects such as communication, problem-solving, financial literacy, digital skills, leadership, and employability, tailored to suit the age and educational level of participating students, from elementary through high school.
Volunteers—comprising QF alumni, QF staff, and EAA personnel—participate by sharing professional experiences, practical knowledge, and advice with young learners. The aim is to provide students with direct exposure to various career paths while fostering confidence and informed decision-making about their futures.
Sara Keshish, senior officer for Enterprise Development at the EAA Foundation, emphasized that the initiative integrates real-world experience into the classroom setting. She noted that by linking students with professionals across different sectors, the program allows young people to explore diverse careers, develop critical skills, and engage in meaningful dialogue.
Echoing this sentiment, Asmaa al-Kuwari, manager of Alumni Engagement at Qatar Foundation, highlighted the untapped potential of QF alumni as mentors and role models. She pointed out that “Skills 4 Good” creates structured opportunities for alumni to leverage their expertise in ways that inspire ambition and demonstrate tangible possibilities for the next generation.
The collaboration between EAA and QF through “Skills 4 Good” seeks to foster a culture of community volunteering and knowledge-sharing, aiming to create a lasting positive impact on students’ educational journeys and career readiness. The program’s flexible, volunteer-led model facilitates ongoing contributions from professionals eager to support youth development in Qatar and beyond.
