Michael Hollick secured his first DP World Tour title at the BMW International Open in Munich on Sunday, finishing with a dramatic eagle on the 18th hole to edge out fellow South African Hennie Du Plessis. Hollick, 39, entered the closing stages trailing Du Plessis by three strokes after a bogey on the 16th but responded with a birdie on the 17th and then a 20-foot eagle putt on the final hole to finish at 18-under par, one shot clear of Du Plessis.

Hollick maintained composure throughout the day, adhering to the approach that had served him well during the tournament. “I was actually calm the whole day – stuck to the same stuff I’ve done the whole week. It’s amazing,” he said following the victory.

The win marks a significant milestone in Hollick’s career, delivering his first title on the DP World Tour stage. The tournament concluded in Munich, where both players demonstrated strong performances, but it was Hollick’s late charge that ultimately determined the outcome.
