“Bristol had a really solid weekend. They are probably feeling good about themselves. I think coach Andreas Kapoulas and I know each other well. We have to be diligent and detailed with our commitment to the game plan,” Steutel said ahead of the match. “We need to find ways to limit Bristol’s strengths while exploiting their weaknesses. Most importantly, we must play an Eagles game, with the team’s identity intact.”
Despite the disappointment of the opening loss, Steutel found positives in his team’s performance, particularly on the defensive end. “Defensively, we really asserted ourselves and played with great force. London is always a physical team to play against, but we matched their physicality, sometimes even being the aggressor,” he noted.
He also identified execution lapses during a key period as a factor that influenced the game's outcome. “There was a short period where our execution could have been better, and that was probably crucial. We’ve reviewed the game and worked on these areas during practice. The players have been professional and motivated to correct mistakes as we prepare for Friday.”
