Malaysian squash player Ng Eain Yow continued his impressive run at the London Classic by advancing to the semi-finals after defeating Egypt’s fifth seed Youssef Soliman on Friday. The 28-year-old secured a 2-1 victory in a closely contested quarter-final match that lasted 56 minutes at Alexandra Palace, with scores of 11-6, 5-11, 11-3. This marks Eain Yow’s first appearance in a PSA (Professional Squash Association) tour semi-final since the 2025 Open Squash Classic in New York.

Eain Yow credited his renewed confidence and recent form to his work with coach Hadrian Stiff, stating that he has been “finding myself again after a tough year.” He also acknowledged the mental challenge posed by Soliman during the second set, which he overcame through focus and composure.

Prior to this, Eain Yow defeated fourth seed Aly Abou Eleinen of Egypt in the second round, rallying from a first-set loss to win 7-11, 11-4, 11-9. His path forward remains challenging as he prepares to face England’s world No. 2 Paul Coll in the semi-finals. Historically, Eain Yow has struggled against Coll, holding only one win in their 12 encounters, dating back to a victory at the 2022 Singapore Open.

On the women’s side, Malaysia’s S. Sivasangari also secured her place in the semi-finals without dropping a set, dispatching India’s Anahat Singh 11-4, 11-4 in just 17 minutes. The 27-year-old has maintained strong form throughout the tournament, previously defeating Egypt’s Nardine Garas 11-6, 11-5 in the second round.

Sivasangari will face a stern test in the semi-finals against defending champion and world No. 2 Amina Ordi of Egypt. The match sets up a repeat of last year’s semi-final, where Ordi emerged victorious. Sivasangari aims to reverse that result and reclaim the title she won in 2024.
