An easyJet flight from London Gatwick to Innsbruck was diverted to Munich on July 5 after experiencing technical difficulties, leaving passengers stranded for several hours. The Airbus aircraft encountered an engine defect along with a sensor failure, prompting the crew to make the unscheduled landing in Germany.

Passengers reported frustration and discomfort during the delay, with some describing the experience as particularly challenging for families waiting on the tarmac. After assessing the situation, the pilot informed travelers that the flight could not continue safely, stating that a “100 per cent safety” guarantee could not be provided. Following this announcement, passengers were asked to disembark and arrange alternative transportation independently.

EasyJet subsequently issued a statement acknowledging the disruption and apologizing for the inconvenience. The airline explained that limited coach availability in Munich prevented immediate onward travel for the affected customers. To mitigate the impact, easyJet offered to reimburse passengers for expenses incurred while securing alternative travel arrangements.

Authorities and airline representatives have not reported any injuries related to the incident. The circumstances leading to the technical faults are currently under review as easyJet works to resume normal service.
