LuLu Hypermarket has launched the “Eat Spain, Drink Spain” campaign at LuLu Mall Giardino Pearl, showcasing a selection of Spanish cuisine and products. The event, held on Wednesday, featured live cooking demonstrations and highlighted a variety of Spanish delicacies available at the hypermarket.

Teresa M Puerta Gonzalez, charge d’affaires at the embassy of Spain, served as the guest of honour and emphasized the role of Spanish cuisine in bringing people together. She described the event as a celebration of Spain’s culinary traditions and expressed that food acts as a means to foster family and social connections. “It is all about Spain and about the things we do the best, which is cooking,” she remarked, underscoring how food reflects Spanish culture and lifestyle.

The campaign is part of the commercial policy initiatives of Spain and aligns with the broader LuLu Spanish Food Festival. Puerta Gonzalez noted that featured products included a variety of cheeses, natural products such as fruits, vegetables, olives, and fish—all sourced from Spain.

Organized by the Economic and Commercial Office of the Spanish embassy in Doha in collaboration with ICEX Spain Trade & Investment, the “Eat Spain, Drink Spain” campaign is in its second edition. The event brought together Spanish trade officials alongside representatives from the LuLu Group. Chefs conducted live demonstrations to showcase the flavors, ingredients, and culinary heritage of Spain, allowing attendees to experience popular Spanish dishes and gain insight into the versatility of Spanish ingredients.

The campaign is part of a wider initiative called “Spain Food Nation,” led by Foods from Spain and Alimentos de España through the Spanish embassy’s Economic and Commercial Office. Running from September 22 to October 4, the campaign engages hotels, restaurants, supermarkets, and specialty food outlets across Qatar, offering various promotions, tastings, and cooking activities to raise awareness of Spanish gastronomy.

By participating in the campaign, LuLu Hypermarket continues its efforts to introduce customers to international cuisines and authentic products from around the world, while supporting initiatives that help connect Qatar’s multicultural community with global food traditions.
