Happy Garden Chinese Restaurant, a fixture within West Heath Shopping Centre in Congleton for three decades, will close permanently at the end of this month. The decision comes as the restaurant’s lease approached its renewal date.

The owners issued a statement explaining that a combination of factors led to the closure. They cited difficult family circumstances alongside the conditions attached to the lease renewal as reasons making continued operation unfeasible. They added that despite exploring all available options, these challenges could not be overcome.

Customers holding vouchers have been advised to redeem them before the end of September, as refunds will not be issued following the closure.

Happy Garden’s departure marks the end of a 30-year run serving the local community in Congleton.
