Newcastle United have announced that Eddie Howe has stepped down from his position as head coach, ending nearly five years at the helm of the Premier League club. The 48-year-old made the decision following a period in which he helped stabilize the team, notably steering them away from relegation and leading them to the Carabao Cup final.

In an official club statement, Newcastle United said they had accepted Howe's resignation and expressed gratitude for his significant contributions during his tenure. Alongside Howe, several members of his coaching staff are also departing, including coaches Jason Tindall, Graeme Jones, Stephen Purches, Simon Weatherstone, as well as the head of performance, Dan Hodges.

Howe released an emotional statement reflecting on his exit, emphasizing the personal toll of the job and the need for a break. “After nearly five years of giving my life, heart and soul into the club with unrelenting energy, I feel that it is in the best interests of both myself and the club to step away, recharge and take a break,” he said. Howe added that despite the difficulty of his decision, he believed it was the right one, underscoring that his choices have consistently prioritized the club's welfare above his own.

Howe’s tenure at Newcastle was marked by a steady improvement in the team’s performance, earning respect for guiding the Magpies through challenging phases.
