Education Above All (EAA) Foundation, in partnership with the Qatar Foundation (QF) Alumni Office, has launched a new volunteer-driven program called Skills 4 Good aimed at enhancing practical skills and career readiness among students at the foundation’s Assalam Schools.
The initiative connects QF alumni, EAA staff, Scholars, and Youth Advocates with students from elementary through high school levels through brief, one-hour interactive sessions. These sessions focus on Career Deep Dives, Skills Workshops, and Leadership talks that cover topics such as communication, problem-solving, financial literacy, digital skills, leadership, and employability. The goal is to expose students to diverse fields, build confidence, and provide insights into various educational and career pathways.
Sara Keshaish, senior officer for enterprise development at Education Above All Foundation, emphasized the program’s focus on bringing real-world experience into the classroom. “By connecting students with professionals from different fields, we want to give young people opportunities to develop useful skills, ask questions, explore different careers and build the confidence to make informed choices about their future,” she said.
Skills 4 Good operates on a straightforward model where volunteers commit an hour to share their expertise or personal career experiences, with session content tailored to the developmental stage and needs of participating students. This format facilitates direct mentorship and practical engagement, aiming to inspire youth and encourage proactive planning for their futures.
Asmaa Al Kuwari, manager of Alumni Engagement at Qatar Foundation, highlighted the value of engaging QF alumni in community service. She noted that the program not only allows alumni to impart knowledge and motivation but also fosters a culture of giving back. “Our alumni have so much to offer, and we want to create meaningful opportunities for them to use their knowledge and experience to make a difference,” Al Kuwari said. “Skills 4 Good brings that to life by connecting our alumni with young people, allowing them to share what they have learned, inspire ambition and help the next generation see what is possible.”
Through this collaboration, Education Above All and Qatar Foundation aim to strengthen community ties and support youth development by leveraging the collective experience of professionals who are invested in the region’s educational and economic advancement.
