Gulf News Edufair Abu Dhabi is set to commence on October 17 at the Radisson Blu Hotel & Resort, Abu Dhabi Corniche, featuring more than 20 exhibitors including universities, education providers, and study-abroad advisers. The two-day event offers students and parents the chance to explore a wide array of academic programmes, discuss admissions processes, and obtain guidance on potential study paths.
The fair follows a successful edition held earlier this month in Dubai, which attracted over 7,000 visitors. With an increasing variety of degree options and international study destinations, Edufair Abu Dhabi aims to assist families in navigating evolving career opportunities and educational offerings.
Participating universities are presenting programmes that emphasize emerging technologies, practical learning, and industry experience. Dr Eesa Al Bastaki, President of University of Dubai, highlighted the institution's integration of subjects like artificial intelligence, data science, cybersecurity, and digital leadership into its curriculum. The university also promotes international partnerships and industry-focused learning to prepare students for dynamic workplace demands. Undergraduate and postgraduate courses, including dual-degree options, will be showcased.
Healthcare education is a key focus at the event as well. Dr Mohamed Baraka, Vice President of Dubai Campus at Batterjee Medical College, outlined the college’s efforts to align health profession programmes with current employer and patient needs. Their curriculum includes digital health literacy, responsible AI use, interdisciplinary collaboration, and lifelong learning, with offerings in nursing, respiratory therapy, and occupational therapy supported by simulation, clinical exposure, and industry engagement.
Middlesex University Dubai is also participating, offering over 90 programmes designed to respond to changing employment landscapes. Professor Cedwyn Fernandes, Provost and Director, emphasized the integration of AI literacy across disciplines alongside specializations such as FinTech, robotics, and sport science. The university prioritizes experiential learning through internships and real-world projects.
Canadian University Dubai will promote its diverse academic portfolio across six schools, highlighting both academic and student life aspects. Dr Rami El Khatib, Vice President of Student Affairs, noted the emphasis on a multicultural campus community comprising more than 140 nationalities, supported by a range of clubs, well-being services, and leadership opportunities.
The event also reflects a broader focus on global exposure and practical skills development. The SP Jain School of Global Management discussed its commitment to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in fields including media, while representatives like Bhakti Reen, Head of Dubai Student Recruitment, stressed the importance of digital skills, AI, data-driven decision-making, and employability.
Attendees can engage directly with university representatives to inquire about entry criteria and programme details, enabling informed decisions on academic and career planning. The Edufair continues to serve as a platform connecting students with evolving educational trends and global opportunities.
