Doha, Qatar, is set to host the eFIBA World Finals Qatar Season 4, marking the first time the event will take place in the Middle East. The tournament, scheduled for July 3 and 4, 2026, is a collaboration between the FIBA Basketball World Cup Qatar 2027 Local Organizing Committee, the International Basketball Federation (FIBA), and the Qatar Esports Federation. The competition will be held at the Mall of Qatar as part of a wider program of activities leading up to the FIBA Basketball World Cup Qatar 2027, which will run from August 27 to September 12, 2027, featuring top national basketball teams and players from around the world.

The eFIBA World Finals Qatar Season 4 brings together eight national teams competing in esports basketball, divided into two groups. Group A includes Algeria, France, Germany, and the Philippines, while the host nation, Qatar, competes in Group B alongside the Dominican Republic, Lebanon, and Turkey. Each national team fields five players, totaling 40 competitors in the event.

The opening day on July 3 will feature an extensive schedule of group-stage matches, starting with France facing the Philippines and Turkey competing against the Dominican Republic. Other matchups include Germany versus Algeria and Lebanon versus Qatar. The day will continue with further group-stage contests such as Germany against France, Lebanon versus Turkey, Algeria versus the Philippines, and the Dominican Republic against Qatar. The group stage will conclude with France facing Algeria, Turkey playing Qatar, Germany against the Philippines, and Lebanon competing with the Dominican Republic. Following these matches, the competition will progress to the knockout phase later that day.

The final day of the tournament, July 4, is reserved for the concluding rounds, culminating in the championship match to determine the Season 4 eFIBA World Finals Qatar 2026 winner. The total prize pool of $50,000 will be awarded to the top four teams, with awards distributed across both team and individual categories.

The event underscores Qatar’s commitment to fostering innovation in sports and expanding the reach of basketball within the esports arena. It represents a strategic step in preparation for hosting the traditional FIBA Basketball World Cup in 2027, further establishing the country’s presence on the global sports stage. This edition follows previous eFIBA World Finals events held in Jonkoping, Sweden, in 2023 and Clark, Philippines, in 2024, marking a continued growth of the tournament’s international footprint.
