Kuwaiti security authorities have arrested an Egyptian expatriate on charges of forging residential lease agreements and selling them to other expatriates seeking to register their residency at new addresses. The arrest took place in the Farwaniya area following an investigation by the Forgery Investigation Department.

According to security sources, the suspect produced and distributed counterfeit lease agreements to expatriates who wanted to change their registered residential locations. The illegal activity was uncovered after reports emerged about the suspect’s operations, leading authorities to raid his residence where they seized multiple forged documents.

During questioning, the Egyptian national identified several accomplices involved in the scheme, who were subsequently detained. The group reportedly conducted the forgeries in exchange for financial gain.

A formal case of forgery has been filed against the suspect, and the matter has been forwarded to the relevant judicial authorities for further action. Investigations into the full extent of the network and the number of forged leases issued are ongoing.
