KUWAIT CITY — Eight members of the board of directors of Firdous Cooperative Society were removed from their positions following the discovery of significant financial and administrative irregularities, the Ministry of Social, Family and Childhood Affairs announced on June 13. The decision was made by Minister Dr. Amthal Al-Huwaila through an official ministerial decree.

The dismissals come after audit reports and investigations by relevant authorities uncovered serious violations within the cooperative’s management. The ministry emphasized that the action aligns with the laws and regulations governing cooperative societies in Kuwait, aiming to safeguard cooperative funds and maintain effective operations.

The dismissed board members have been instructed to transfer all financial resources, documents, records, and files under their control to the new board of directors within one week of the decree issuance.

Minister Al-Huwaila stressed the government’s commitment to enforcing the law impartially and indicated that any misconduct affecting shareholder assets or compromising transparency and governance standards in the cooperative sector would not be tolerated. The ministry affirmed its dedication to upholding integrity across all cooperative institutions.
