Kuwait’s Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy announced a series of administrative rotations involving 16 supervisory staff members across multiple departments, Minister Dr. Subaih Abdulaziz Al-Mukhaizim confirmed on Sunday. The reshuffle affects key sectors within the ministry, including Financial Affairs, Power Plants, Administrative Affairs, Technical Services, Electrical Transmission Networks, Water Operation and Maintenance, and Customer Services.
Among the notable changes, Engineer Ahmed Al-Sumairi, previously serving as Director of the Planning and Follow-up Department within the Electrical Transmission Networks Sector, has been reassigned to lead the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Department in the Power Plants Sector. Concurrently, Engineer Ahmed Al-Dousari, who had been heading the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Department, will take over as Director of the Program Planning and Follow-up Department in the same sector.
Engineer Khalaf Al-Mutairi, formerly in charge of the Program Planning and Follow-up Department, was appointed to head the Security and Safety Department within the Power Plants Sector. Abdullah Al-Tharwa, who previously directed the Security and Safety Department, has been transferred to lead the Planning Department in the Financial Affairs Sector.
These appointments form part of a broader effort to enhance operational efficiency and oversight within the ministry's various units. The ministry did not specify the criteria guiding these transfers, but the moves reassign experienced leadership across critical departments that support Kuwait’s electricity and water infrastructure.
Officials emphasized the importance of aligning expertise with the ministry’s strategic goals, including advancing renewable energy initiatives and improving technical services. The full list of personnel changes spans several other supervisory positions, affecting the organization’s capacity to manage Kuwait’s power and water services effectively.
The reshuffle reflects ongoing administrative adjustments as Kuwait continues its efforts to modernize and expand its energy resources, amid a regional push toward integrating sustainable energy solutions alongside conventional infrastructure.
