Shivon Zilis, an executive at Elon Musk’s company Neuralink and mother of four of his children, has publicly discussed the end of their relationship on social media. Describing the breakup as sudden and unexpected, Zilis shared a screenshot of recent text messages conveying the emotional challenges of transitioning from a romantic partnership to separation within the span of a week.

Zilis indicated that despite the abrupt nature of their split, the separation was amicable. Both she and Musk intend to maintain a cordial relationship as friends and co-parents. The couple first met through their involvement with the artificial intelligence research organization OpenAI. Their children include twins conceived through in vitro fertilization in November 2021, as well as two younger children, who have remained a central connection between them.

Elon Musk, who has fathered fourteen children with four different women, has not publicly responded to Zilis’s announcement.
