Emma Willis has been preparing for her role as a presenter on "Strictly Come Dancing" for several years, according to remarks she made ahead of the show's new season. Alongside co-hosts Josh Widdicombe and Johannes Radebe, Willis will join the long-running BBC dance competition when it returns to screens this Saturday.

Contrary to earlier reports suggesting the new presenting team underwent a rigorous audition process, Willis revealed she completed a dance test for "Strictly" shortly after Covid-19 restrictions were eased. During that session, she met professional dancer Jojo, with whom she quickly established a rapport.

Josh Widdicombe also shared that he has exercised particular caution since his screen test, abstaining from swearing in an effort to meet BBC broadcasting guidelines. He noted that although his comedy style remains inoffensive, he is mindful of maintaining the appropriate tone for the show’s audience.

The three presenters acknowledged the pressure of succeeding long-standing hosts who have become beloved by viewers. Willis described stepping into their roles as "terrifying," reflecting a shared sentiment among the new team as they prepare for their debut episode.
