Albert Yeung Sau-shing, chairman of Emperor Group, and his son Alex Yeung Ching-loong, vice chairman, were honored for their philanthropic efforts at the China Charity Ranking award ceremony held in Beijing on June 24. Albert Yeung received the “Philanthropy Pioneer” title, marking his 19th consecutive year of recognition for his charitable contributions, while Alex Yeung was named an “Emerging Philanthropy Advocate” for his work with grassroots communities and youth empowerment.
The awards, hosted annually by the China Philanthropy Times, aim to spotlight individuals and organizations making significant impacts in the charitable sector. The event also recognized cultural contributions, with celebrated actress Kara Wai Ying-hung from Emperor Entertainment Group acknowledged for her achievements in both entertainment and social causes.
Albert Yeung’s philanthropic efforts span more than 50 years, during which he has supported the construction of 10 elderly service centers and children’s welfare homes, providing over 3,000 beds to support vulnerable populations. Recently, he, along with Alex Yeung and artists affiliated with Emperor Entertainment, contributed more than HK$30 million to assist those affected by the Wang Fuk Court fire.
Alex Yeung’s awards recognition highlights his years of dedication to working closely with grassroots communities and helping young people realize upward social mobility. He has expressed a commitment to continuing his father’s legacy by encouraging younger generations to engage in charitable activities and community service.
Speaking at the ceremony, Albert Yeung emphasized the importance of sustaining philanthropic initiatives and passing the spirit of benevolence to future generations, reinforcing the Group’s ongoing commitment to social responsibility.
