Millie Turner has completed a transfer from Manchester United to Birmingham City, marking the end of an eight-year association with the Red Devils. The 30-year-old centre-back, who advanced through Manchester United’s youth system and also spent time at Everton, joins Birmingham aiming for more consistent playing opportunities.
Turner made a significant impact during her tenure at Manchester United Women, ranking second in all-time appearances with 189 matches, trailing only Ella Toone. Her leadership and professionalism were widely recognized within the club.
“Millie’s contribution to Manchester United Women has been immense,” said Matt Johnson, director of women’s football at Manchester United. “She is a great professional and a fantastic leader and has played a vital role in everything we have achieved throughout the last eight years. It is important that she now has the opportunity to go and enjoy more regular game time at this stage of her career.”
Turner’s move to Birmingham City reflects a strategic decision to secure increased playing time as she continues her career in women’s football. Details of the transfer, including contract length and terms, have not been disclosed.
