England has excluded fast bowler Brydon Carse from its squad for the third Test against Pakistan amid an ongoing investigation into an off-field incident. The 31-year-old was removed from the team prior to last week’s series-clinching victory at Lord’s after being involved in a late-night incident outside a nightclub in Derby while with his county side, Durham.

Carse was briefly detained by police officers during the incident and was seen in a video clip wearing handcuffs. He was subsequently released at the scene after agreeing to leave the area. Derbyshire Police are currently investigating allegations of assault related to the episode. Additionally, the independent Cricket Regulator has initiated a review of Carse’s conduct.

In response to Carse’s absence, England has retained pace bowler Sonny Baker in its 15-man squad for the upcoming Test at Edgbaston. However, interim head coach Marcus Trescothick indicated that he may not make significant changes to the playing XI as England look to complete a 3-0 series sweep against Pakistan.

The third Test is scheduled to take place next week at Edgbaston, where England will aim to maintain their dominant position in the series despite the squad adjustment.
