Qatar’s Es’hailSat and the Arab Satellite Communications Organisation (Arabsat) have entered into a strategic partnership aimed at enhancing collaboration in satellite broadcasting and communications across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. The agreement was signed during the Arab Radio and Television Festival held in Hammamet, Tunisia.

The partnership focuses on strengthening the 26° East orbital position as a central hub for regional satellite broadcasting. Both companies plan to increase the number of satellite channels and diversify content to improve the viewing experience and support the expansion of the satellite media sector within MENA. The collaboration also seeks to advance services in satellite communications, very-small-aperture terminal (VSAT) solutions, and connectivity offerings.

Under the agreement, Es’hailSat and Arabsat will jointly explore the adoption of advanced technologies intended to improve the efficiency, quality, and reliability of their services. This initiative aims to deliver more integrated and flexible satellite and communication solutions to customers in the region and beyond.

A key component of the cooperation is the expansion of the Unified Arab Bouquet, a satellite package that distributes Arabic-language channels globally. The parties intend to leverage international satellite coverage to broaden the reach of Arab content, enabling it to attract audiences outside the MENA region.

Es’hailSat President and CEO Ali bin Ahmed al-Kuwari emphasized that the partnership is a significant step toward cross-sector collaboration. He highlighted the opportunity to leverage the combined expertise of both organizations in satellite, connectivity, and broadcast services to enhance offerings and enrich the 26° East orbital position’s broadcasting capabilities.

Arabsat CEO Dr. Badr N Alsuwaidan echoed these sentiments, noting the agreement will reinforce the 26° East location and expand cooperation in broadcasting, communications, and satellite connectivity. He added that the partnership lays the groundwork for future joint initiatives that align with rapid technological developments in the space sector, ultimately improving service quality and supporting a more integrated and sustainable industry future.

Both Es’hailSat and Arabsat view the agreement as a framework for long-term collaboration, designed to address evolving customer needs while adapting to ongoing changes in media, telecommunication, and space technologies.
