Etihad Rail has launched a new passenger service connecting Dubai and Fujairah, with journey times of approximately one hour and 10 minutes. The service currently operates one daily trip in each direction, making it more suitable for overnight stays rather than same-day round trips.
Ticket prices start at 29 dirhams for Comfort Class and 89 dirhams for Premium Class, with fares subject to flexible pricing based on travel date, time, class, seat availability, and how far in advance tickets are purchased. Demand-driven price increases are expected during weekends and peak travel periods. Tickets can be purchased through the official Etihad Rail website or mobile application. Passengers may select from three fare categories: Saver, which is the lowest-priced and non-refundable option with automatic seat assignment; Value, which includes complimentary seat selection and allows booking changes; and Flex, the most flexible option offering refunds alongside seat selection and booking modifications.
The current schedule lists one westbound service departing Fujairah at 11:54 a.m. and arriving in Dubai at 1:04 p.m., and one eastbound service departing Dubai at 1:57 p.m. arriving in Fujairah at 3:07 p.m.
The Dubai terminal, Al Yalayis Station, is situated within Jumeirah Golf Estates in Me’aisem First on Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road (E311). It is connected via a 400-meter elevated pedestrian walkway directly to the nearby Jumeirah Golf Estates Metro Station on Dubai’s Red Line. Shuttle buses ER1 and ER2 also operate between the metro station and Al Yalayis station, providing public transport access options beyond taxis or private vehicles. The Fujairah terminal, Al Hilal Station, is located near Al Hilal City. Both stations offer taxi pickup and are serviced by ride-hailing platforms including Uber, Careem, and Hala, along with car rental options.
Passengers are able to purchase a one-day public transport pass as an add-on during ticket booking. The regular pass, priced from 22 dirhams, and the Gold pass, from 42 dirhams, allow unlimited travel on Dubai Metro, Tram, and public buses for a day, offering convenience for those connecting to and from the Al Yalayis Station.
Etihad Rail trains operate at speeds up to 200 kilometers per hour and have a capacity of 400 passengers per train. Onboard amenities include complimentary Wi-Fi, charging outlets, comfortable seating, storage facilities, and food and beverage services, enhancing the travel experience for passengers along this new route.
