The Delegation of the European Union to Qatar has partnered with Doha-based creative agency Zerohundred to advance public diplomacy by focusing on culture, creativity, and shared community experiences. This collaboration is embodied in the Eunited initiative, which shifts away from traditional diplomatic engagements centered on official meetings, instead creating interactive platforms that promote cultural exchange and foster connections among diverse communities.

The Eunited initiative, combining “EU” and “united,” underscores the European Union’s emphasis on solidarity and cooperation. It offers a range of programmes that highlight European values through cultural dialogue and humanitarian support. Among these are Eunited Films, designed to facilitate intercultural understanding between Europe and Qatar through cinema, and Eunited Children, which provides aid and psychosocial support to children affected by conflict.

A recent highlight of the Eunited Children programme was a summer camp held in July 2026 for 50 Sudanese children displaced by ongoing conflict in their home country. The camp aimed to restore a sense of normalcy and joy to children’s lives through activities centred on play, creativity, and friendship within a safe environment. Since its launch in 2023, Eunited Children initially focused on Syrian children and later expanded its reach to Palestinian children in 2024. The initiative’s guiding principle, “Empowering Kids to Be Kids,” reflects a commitment to ensuring displaced children retain their right to childhood despite the challenges they face.

Zerohundred contributed to the project by developing the camp’s creative concept, branding, and experiential design. Steering away from emphasizing hardship, the agency created a vibrant and imaginative setting inspired by the children’s own creativity. The camp featured playful illustrations, fantasy characters, and interactive elements that invited the children to personalise their surroundings and actively engage with the experience.

HE Dr Cristian Tudor, Ambassador of the European Union to Qatar, highlighted the impact of blending diplomacy with cultural activities. He noted that diplomacy extends beyond institutional frameworks to involve people, connections, and shared understandings. “Diplomacy is not only about institutions and governments; it is also about people, connections, and shared understanding,” he stated, emphasizing how initiatives like Eunited facilitate stronger community ties.

Simone Di Salvo, CEO and Co-Founder of Zerohundred, echoed this perspective, describing the collaboration as a model for moving diplomacy beyond conventional communication channels by fostering genuine human connections. He praised the EU Delegation in Qatar for setting a precedent in community engagement through creativity and shared experiences.

The Eunited platform overall reflects the European Union’s aim to make diplomacy more inclusive and participatory. Established in 2022, the EU Delegation to Qatar handles a broad portfolio spanning trade, investment, energy, security, education, and culture. Zerohundred continues to provide international branding and creative services aimed at enhancing relationships between organisations and communities, supporting the broader goals of the partnership.
