The Apple Watch continuously monitors heart rhythm and analyzes it for irregularities, representing a new frontier in early detection of cardiac issues. Clinical studies and collaborations with cardiology organizations lend medical credibility to the devices, positioning them as preventive health tools. Users and some medical professionals report that the Watch is effective in identifying episodes of AF. Large observational studies confirm that when the device signals an irregular rhythm, a portion of users receive a confirmed AF diagnosis through follow-up electrocardiogram (ECG) testing.
