A former 2GB presenter has denied shielding Alan Jones in court, testifying that he would have reported any inappropriate conduct had he witnessed it. Jones, a prominent Australian radio figure, is on trial at the Downing Centre Local Court in Sydney, facing multiple allegations of indecent assault involving six men, including one identified only as "Complainant C." The trial relates to incidents purportedly dating back nearly two decades.

Jones has pleaded not guilty to 20 counts of indecent assault and two counts of sexual touching, maintaining his innocence throughout the proceedings. Central to the case is the allegation that Jones repeatedly kissed and touched Complainant C without consent, including an incident said to have taken place during a lunch on Sydney’s north shore.

Former 2GB host Jason Morrison, called as a witness, testified that he did not observe Jones’s hand under the table or witness any inappropriate behavior during the lunch in question. When questioned by Crown prosecutor Georgina Wright, Morrison rejected suggestions that his friendship with Jones influenced his testimony or that he was unwilling to provide evidence detrimental to Jones’s defense.

“I’m here to give you my account of what happened, under oath, that’s something I take very seriously,” Morrison stated in court. He further described Complainant C as someone he cared about deeply and expressed confidence that if he had known about any misconduct, the radio station’s management would have taken action. Morrison also remarked that he did not believe Complainant C would make a serious criminal complaint without cause.

The trial continues as the court hears further evidence from both the prosecution and defense.
