Former television personality and fitness entrepreneur Sam Wood is seeking bail after nearly a month in custody on domestic violence charges. Wood, 46, will apply for bail in Brisbane Supreme Court, where his legal team will also request non-publication orders concerning details of the case.
Wood has been held at Wolston Correctional Centre in Brisbane, a facility housing some of Queensland's most serious offenders, since his arrest. He faces charges of assault occasioning bodily harm and strangulation in a domestic setting, stemming from an alleged incident involving his wife, Snezana, during a family holiday in Noosa.
The bail application follows a significant development in Wood’s business affairs. His former fitness company, known as 28 by Sam Wood, officially rebranded to evvr after its parent company, DBG Health, terminated all commercial relationships with him on October 6. The company announced the new brand identity as part of efforts to distance itself from Wood amid the ongoing legal proceedings.
If bail is granted, Wood is expected to reside at an interstate address while the case progresses. The legal proceedings are ongoing, and the court will determine whether to approve his release and impose any conditions.
