Dan Singer, a former rugby player, died during a charity cycling event on October 1. He was 48 years old.

Singer was participating in a 500-mile bike ride from Scotland to London to raise funds for Crawford Henderson, a former teammate who has been undergoing treatment for a brain tumour. The cause of Singer’s death has not been disclosed.

Following the incident, the other participants chose to cancel the remainder of the challenge. Instead, they completed a shorter ride to Rosslyn Park, the London-based rugby club where Singer had played, as a tribute to him.

Singer began his rugby career as a youth player for Porthcawl RFC, located near Bridgend in South Wales, before relocating to London to work as a trader. He was remembered by friends and colleagues as a selfless individual dedicated to helping others through charitable efforts. Porthcawl RFC noted that Singer always made an effort to visit the club when he returned to the area.
