James and Ola Jordan, former professional dancers on the BBC's Strictly Come Dancing, have announced their separation after 22 years of marriage. The couple, who both gained recognition for their performances on the popular television show, began a trial separation some time ago, according to a statement from their manager, Vickie White.

James Jordan, 48, and Ola Jordan, 43, first met in 1999 when Ola, then 17, won the Open Polish Championship. They formed a dance partnership soon after, beginning in March 2000, and Ola relocated to England shortly thereafter. The pair married in October 2003.

Both were part of Strictly Come Dancing’s professional dance troupe, with James participating until 2013 and Ola remaining on the show until 2015. Over their time on the program, they danced with various celebrity partners; Ola's partners included wildlife presenter Steve Backshall and sprinter Iwan Thomas, while James was paired with broadcaster Gabby Logan and television host Alex Jones.

The Jordans have one daughter, Ella, conceived through in vitro fertilization six years ago. Their manager emphasized that despite the separation, the couple is focused on co-parenting and prioritizing their daughter’s wellbeing during this challenging period. The statement also requested privacy and understanding as they navigate their changed relationship.

Ola Jordan has previously spoken openly about the realities of marriage, acknowledging that no marriage is perfect and describing it as “a work in progress” that requires effort from both partners to succeed. The couple’s separation marks a significant shift after more than two decades of personal and professional partnership.
