Wolfsburg is reportedly considering Danny Rohl as a leading candidate to become their next manager amid mounting pressure on the Rangers head coach. The 37-year-old, who has led Rangers through an unexpected title challenge this season, currently faces a difficult finish with his team trailing Hearts by seven points and only three matches remaining in the campaign.

Rohl’s potential move comes as Wolfsburg seeks to turn around its fortunes in the Bundesliga. The German club has identified him as a strong option, reflecting the manager’s longstanding ambition to manage in Germany’s top flight. Rohl has expressed his desire to work at the highest competitive levels, emphasizing his affinity for the Bundesliga, where he spent his formative football years.

“If it were up to me, as soon as possible,” Rohl previously stated regarding his wish to manage in Germany. “The Bundesliga is obviously something special because I grew up with it. For me, it’s always about working at the highest level. I want to compete against the best teams, with the best coaches.”

In addition to Rohl, Wolfsburg is assessing other candidates including FC St. Pauli’s Alexander Blessin, Hertha Berlin’s Stefan Leitl, and former managers Thomas Reis and Dino Toppmoller, who are currently not attached to clubs. The decision reflects Wolfsburg’s intent to identify a manager capable of stabilizing the team and improving its position in the Bundesliga standings as the season concludes.

As the speculation intensifies, Rohl remains in charge at Rangers, where the club’s challenge for the Scottish Premiership title now appears unlikely. Wolfsburg’s interest is a notable development as the German side looks ahead to rebuilding and aspirations for the next season.
