A woman from Beijing who sought medical advice on social media encountered a person impersonating a doctor who demanded inappropriate images, authorities reported. The woman had posted a request for help interpreting her spinal X-rays when she was contacted by an individual claiming to be a doctor offering a free consultation.

The impersonator told the woman that in order to assess her overall posture, she needed to provide a topless photograph. Recognizing the suspicious nature of the request, the woman reported the account to the police without delay.

Following the complaint, law enforcement officials investigated and apprehended the individual responsible for the fraudulent profile. Authorities have not disclosed additional details about the suspect or whether any charges have been filed.
