A Romanian woman has admitted to killing two wealthy businessmen by drugging their drinks and stealing valuables from them. Adina Mihai, 31, used the date rape drug GBL to incapacitate her victims before taking cash and luxury watches. Her boyfriend, Madalin Dumitru, 30, was reportedly nearby during the incidents, providing instructions in case any of the men resisted.

The first victim, Malcolm King, an 80-year-old multimillionaire and well-known big game hunter, was found dead hours after Mihai and Dumitru visited his estate in Bagendon, Cotswolds, in August 2024. King, who was Britain’s most prolific big game hunter and a father of two, lost a Rolex watch during the encounter.

Nearly a year later, Gary Mouat, 37, a married glazing executive from Banbury, Oxfordshire, also died after being drugged by Mihai in his family home. Authorities believe the couple targeted other men as well; two survived after being drugged, and police suspect there may be additional victims who have not come forward.

Mihai, unemployed after arriving legally in the UK in 2023, had advertised her services on an online classified ads website, posing as a sex worker. She sought out affluent men, visiting them at their homes and encouraging them to drink wine laced with GBL. Mihai and Dumitru, both Romanian nationals, targeted four men between 2024 and 2025.

The couple has pleaded guilty to charges including manslaughter and administering poison to the survivors. They remain in custody ahead of sentencing, which is scheduled for later this summer. Mrs Justice Brunner indicated that significant prison sentences are expected in the case.
