Kendal Daniels, the Atlanta Falcons rookie linebacker, is reported to be in stable condition following a neck injury sustained during the team’s game against the Chicago Bears on Sunday. The incident occurred late in the third quarter with 8:48 remaining, as the Bears led 21-7.
The injury took place when Daniels attempted to tackle Bears tight end Colston Loveland after a completed pass from Chicago quarterback Caleb Williams. In the process, Daniels’ head appeared to collide with Loveland’s left leg near the knee. The impact left Daniels lying on the field for an extended period while medical staff attended to him.
Falcons medical personnel stabilized Daniels’ neck and body before transporting him off the field on a cart. Teammates and coaches gathered around as he was removed, offering support. Upon leaving the field, Daniels was conscious and signaled by making a fist with his left hand.
The Falcons have not provided additional information on Daniels’ condition or the expected timeline for his recovery as of this report.
